The Crowcon Xgard IQ is an intelligent, versatile fixed gas detector and transmitter built to minimize the time operators spend in hazardous areas performing routine maintenance. With hot-swap sensor modules that require no hot work permit, auto-sense and auto-configure functions that eliminate wiring errors and manual setup, and a bright OLED display readable even in dark locations, the Xgard IQ is engineered for real-world oilfield facility installation and long-term operation. A universal transmitter body accepts Crowcon's full range of sensor technologies — electrochemical, catalytic, infrared, and MEMS — covering H₂S, flammable gases, toxic gases, and oxygen across an extensive gas library. SIL2 certified to IEC 61508 and EN 50402, the Xgard IQ meets the functional safety requirements of safety-instrumented systems in process facilities. Critically for the Alberta market, the Xgard IQ carries full FM approval with CSA Canadian certification, making it immediately deployable into classified hazardous locations without the certification gaps present in some other Crowcon fixed products. Built from 316 stainless steel, IP66 rated, and operating from -40°C to +75°C, it is built to perform through Alberta winters and summer processing conditions alike.
